The Mathematical Programming Tools module introduces first-year Bachelor’s students in Data Science to scientific programming tools, particularly MATLAB and R. It covers the fundamental concepts of MATLAB, including vector and matrix manipulation, the creation of graphs and visual representations, as well as the use of functions and loops. Four sets of exercises allow students to apply and practice these concepts. An introduction to the R programming language complements the module and prepares students for its use in statistics and Data Science.
